Davide Groppi Adison’s Nightmare

A gestural project, full of irony and nostalgia.
Therefore, among a thousand stories, prohibitions, absurd technical rules, we have reached the end. The end of the incandescent bulb.
Edison’s Nightmare is a salute to Edison’s light bulb*, a dream that changed the way we live forever, stealing time to read and write from sleep. It is a classic light bulb, nailed to the wall. Like a work of art.

It all started in a small laboratory in the historical centre of the Italian town of Piacenza during the late 1980’s. Davide Groppi was inventing and producing his first lamps and decided simply to use his own name for the name of the company.
Over time, creative independence and management have allowed him to develop his own brand of original and unique products, distributed the world over.
Projects that come from heart and mind, intuitions that emerge from a certain way of being and thinking, in which simplicity, lightness, emotion, invention and amazement are the fundamental elements.
Davide Groppi creations come about through the need to give life to something that is necessary or significant.
The things that inspire these ideas are works of art, ready-made objects, magic, the desire to make things with his hands or simply the urge to play and have fun with light.
